Your College Schedule

A Typical Day in College

Your day will consist of a PowerPoint presentation, in which you’ll learn about dental anatomy and terminology. In order to proceed in your new profession. After the initial presentation, you’ll go on to the lab part of your training, which will be the biggest section of your day. Each day of class (two days a week), you’ll participate in four hours of lecture/lab demonstration, hands on training, two hours of reinforcement learning and homework. Here, in a dental office setting, you’ll learn from expert dental assistants one on one.

By the time you have finished your 4 ½ month training, you will be fully trained and ready to start your first job as a dental assistant. You will need to achieve an 80% on all exams in order to pass. We are committed to working with you individually so that you pass your exams and launch into your new career.

You’ll Learn how to…

  • Identify and properly handle all dental instruments

  • Work as a team with four-handed dentistry

  • Take impressions

  • Pour models / Trim models

  • Produce temporary crowns

  • Prepare procedure trays

  • Prepare procedure room set ups

  • Place a rubber dam

  • Perform sealant procedure

  • Perform coronal polishing

  • Perform all dental procedures

  • Take digital x-rays / Read digital and conventional x-rays

  • Perform sterilization procedures

  • Use of EagleSoft Back Office Management computer software

  • Receive Dental Assisting Certification

  • Receive State Dental Assistant Registration

  • CPR/ BLS training (American Heart Association)

  • Radiology Safety

  • Receive OSHA, HIPAA, HIV, Blood Borne Pathogens Certifications
